Ghost Towns

Montana has a number of ghost towns in various states of preservation, displaying what life was like in the gold mining ‘vigilante’ days of the state. Visit Garnet Ghost Town outside of Missoula year-round, Montana’s ‘most-intact’ ghost town. Or, go a little farther afield and take in Virginia City, Montana’s ‘living’ ghost town, which has become a popular destination as well as a year-round home for about 219 residents.
